What are the Best Places to Advertise your MLM Business?

When people begin a new MLM business, they very often want to get the ball rolling right away and start to advertise. The thing is that they really don’t know exactly where to advertise.

It’s usually one of the more common questions Ann and I get.

Now, to be fair, we don’t really start off the people we mentor letting them go out and flounder looking for places to advertise. We actually get them set up in our system, and they sort of just begin to plug and play. It’s all virtually right there for them from step one, which is getting on the phone with Ann and having her get them started with the system we’ve developed and proven effective for the past 20+ years, to the remaining steps where she shows them all of the best practices.

It goes on from there and is a very continuous cycle of adding new elements to their advertising for their MLM business.

But I understand that you may not be in our MLM organization and that your upline team doesn’t have such a proven system in place for you to tap into. But I know that you may not want to give up yet at this point, or you may have struggled to come up with the money to start your business, so I’ll give you some good tips that should get the ball rolling.

Effective Places to Advertise Your MLM Business

Now there are some choices that you have to make right now.  Here are your choices:

  • Advertise Offline
  • Advertise Online
  • Free Places to Advertise (slower but effective)
  • Paid Advertising (faster results but can be expensive)

There’s really no way of knowing what you want specifically, but most of the time we see people wanting to learn to advertise for FREE or Cheap online!

So that’s what I’m going to show you right now.

First of all, the key to advertising online is to go where the people who want what you have to offer are hanging out. There’s nothing more important than that. If you’ll put your message in front of those people, then you have your best chances of them responding. Makes sense right? But so many people make the mistake.

So where can YOU start?

Well, the first thing that you’ll want to do is create a base online where you can brand yourself, as well as collect leads and prospects that come your way. The best way to do that is with a blog. Not just any cheap old blog, but a blog that also has your name within the domain name.

But basically you want to create a blog, with a lead capture form on it, and give out a ton of valuable information, and personality, so that people WANT to work with you. Now that’s the base. How do you get people to that site is the next question right?

Well, there are a number of ways. Here are 3 good ones, and one that nobody else talks about much.

1)      Article Marketing… There’s nothing better than article marketing for traffic, if you’re going the free route. Article marketing does two things…it will get traffic to your site/blog, and it will build backlinks to your site/blog which will help you get to the top of the search engines.

Actually, if done right, very often the articles themselves end up in the search engines giving you even more traffic. There are a lot of things to learn about article marketing that will increase the effectiveness of your articles, and your chances of success.

2)      Social Networking… Ok so you hear about this all the time right. Facebook and Twitter, blah…blah…blah.  You’re probably sick to death of hearing about these places, but they WILL get traffic to your site. I’ve gotten 50 + hits to my blogs within minutes of posting at Twitter and Facebook, so they truly do work.

If you have a site that converts at 2% of people who leave their contact info to get more information about your opportunity, then it can just take a couple of posts to Facebook or Twitter in order to have a few good solid leads per day just from the social networks alone.  Not only that but you’re able to make connections with the specific people who are looking for an opportunity.

Granted, there is a lot of crap on these sites these days, and you have to do things the right way to easily siphon through all that crap. 3)      Ezine Advertising… Now this is something completely different from article marketing, and can cost a little bit of money, but it can pay off well.

A lot of marketers out there will build a list of subscribers, and send them weekly Ezines to their email. Some of them will let you advertise in their Ezine that’s going to their list.

The great thing about this is that the people that the Ezine is going out to usually trust the judgment of the person that’s sending them the Ezine (that is if the person has been sending quality stuff).

Now there are usually a couple of different types of ads to buy. The best, but of course most expensive would be a Solo Ad. These are ads that only have your offer, and your email to the list. These are most responded to because…well…there’s no competition in the email. It’s just you.

The other cheaper ad types are just “Sponsor Ads”, where you get a little snippet in the email itself, with a clickable URL.  Now really the only ones you want are top sponsor ads, because they’re the first ones that readers see, and are the most effective.

The main thing to know is that it may take some testing. But once you find an Ezine list that responds to your offer, then you can continue each and every week or month to advertise in that Ezine and generate leads consistently.
