Video Marketing for your Network Marketing Business
Alright, so you’ve heard about video marketing and want to start to get the word out about your network marketing business yourself utilizing videos. It’s a great idea to say the least. Here’s why…
Video marketing is here to stay, and just keeps on and on, growing and growing. In fact in case you haven’t heard, as of October of 2009, YouTube.com now gets 1Billion Plus hits per day. That is astounding, and it’s probably a good idea to tap into some of that traffic, wouldn’t you think?
But YouTube.com, though the most popular, is not the only player in the game. There are tons of video sites out there that also get substantial hits per day.
Video marketing is great for a variety of reasons. Exposure being the biggie of course! But also the method itself is great for having a platform to build a fan base.
People online now are looking to connect on a personal basis and there’s no better way than video. Even if you never loaded your videos to YouTube, the mere fact of having a video up at your website or blog can do wonders for you. And in the network marketing arena, it’s almost unheard of not to see a video on a site.
That of course doesn’t mean that everyone does it correctly. Most get it terribly wrong.
You see, most people will make a video simply to pitch their opportunity, almost like an infomercial. While those types of videos do have their place, since you do always have to be persuasive and pushing your opportunity a little bit… people mostly respond to videos where they simply get a glimpse of who they’re dealing with and the real personality behind the name.
Basically they just want to know that you’re a real person, sitting in a real house, and actually living the lifestyle that you say you’re living. If you can prove that then you’ve gone a long way with credibility.
But what if you don’t really have an intriguing lifestyle yet? Well, you’re still a real person, and if you tell people the truth that builds credibility too. Simply tell your viewers that you’re building a business come hell or high water, and they’re welcome to come along for the ride, or simply just watch you.
Videos for a network marketing business don’t need to be horribly long, full length feature films. Two minutes is plenty. If you’ve got something to teach then of course it’s fine to go longer. But if you’re just trying to get the word out, then you add some value in the least amount of time possible (again 2 minutes is perfect) and then get your viewer to take an action…and that usually means getting them to click on a link to your website or blog.
What If I’m Shy and Don’t Want to Be on Video?
Listen, we all have our fears and our comfort zones that pretty much hold us back from our true potential. The best thing that you can do is just make a darn video regardless, and put it up. Once you do that you’ll see that it doesn’t hurt all that bad.
If you just can’t bring yourself to doing that, then it’s a matter of taking baby steps. You can simply record your voice over screenshots of what you want to talk about, photos, or a PowerPoint presentation. You’ll certainly want to break out of this shyness as soon as possible and get some real personality driven videos out there, but for now this is a good first step for your network marketing business.
How to Make Videos
Obviously this is a topic that can’t be covered completely here. It’s a vast topic, and depending on how fancy you want to get, could cover volumes in instruction.
The basics requires not much more than a video editing program like Window Movie Maker (most PC’s come with this build into Windows or whatever the equivalent is for Mac’s), then there’s other’s like Jing (free but limited), or the more powerful Camtasia (more expensive). There are surely other free ones out there if you do a search on Google, and ironically if you want to learn how to use the software, you can find a video on You Tube showing you how.
Getting Your Video Out to the World
Once you’ve created your video you’ll have to upload it somewhere. Like we mentioned, You Tube is the big daddy of them all, but if you want to take your network marketing business to extremely huge levels of exposure then you can submit to as many of the video sites as you can.
There is plenty of software out there to help you do this. If you have money then Traffic Geyser is the best one available but it can get pricey at $97 bucks a month. Your other choice is Tube Mogul which is FREE and will blast your video’s out to the top video sharing sites. It’s plenty if you’re just getting started, and you can actually track your videos.
The Most Important Part About Video Marketing for Your Network Marketing Business
The most important thing is that you simply GET STARTED! Don’t worry about being perfect. You’re not going for an Oscar Award, you’re simply looking to get exposure. In fact, if you’ll look at some of the most popular videos at You Tube you’ll see that most of the videos are of terrible quality, and usually just videos of people in their homes.
Don’t forget, we’re living in a Reality TV society, and you may as well make your network marketing business part of that reality.
